Hi Anna, provided the annual rent (including tenant’s contributions to household bills etc) is less than e12,000 & you also occupy a room in the house then you can avail of “rent a room relief” hwereby no tax is payable. You are still oblighed to file a Form 12 tax return to avail of this relief.

  • If I was renting my house out from July to December of last year and received 1,200p/m do I still have to pay tax on this ?
    Thanks
    Sarah
